Structure in reference to Theme and Thesis

Turning Point - the place in a story when one thesis has been illustrated and thus another thesis begins to be illustrated.

Midpoint - The failure of thesis 1

3 Act Structure:
Act 1 sets up the theme(question) and shows thesis one chosen and illustrated.
Act 2 shows thesis one to be a problem and contrasts it with thesis two.
Act 3 shows thesis two chosen and being illustrated.

4 Act Structure
Act 1 sets up the theme(question) and shows thesis one chosen and illustrated.
Act 2 shows both thesis working as answers to the theme(question)
Often call the fun and games, as in fun but false.
Act 3 shows both thesis failing to answer the theme(question)  Often leading to "death" or "Dark night of the soul" as in I guess "I can't have my cake and eat it too" and "everybody hates me" and "crap, I've been selfish."
Act 4 shows thesis two chosen and illustrated.  Breaks down theme(question).
